Denise Bumgarner, LPC
Denise Bumgarner has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over thirty years, providing services in the Fredericksburg area for the past twenty years. She graduated from George Mason University with a Masters of Education in Counseling and received her license from the state of Virginia in 1992. Denise has worked in a variety of settings including the Minirth-Meier-New Life Clinic in Fairfax, Virginia where she directed the inpatient eating disorder program for three years and was on staff at several other faith based counseling centers. Denise has a specialty in trauma; both acute and childhood trauma and has been been certified for using EMDR for memory reprocessing. She also works with a variety of mental health issues including obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. She provides individual, couple and family therapy to adults. Denise integrates faith into the therapeutic process, emphasizing spiritual hope and healing.
Denise is married with two children and lives in Stafford. She is also actively involved in the ministry of Young Life and in her local church.
